The Original Little Cat Mat is made from natural jute (natural, biodegradable bast fibre derived from the skin (phloem) of the Corchorus capsular (white jute) and Corchorus olitorius (tossa jute) plants, processed through retting (soaking) to extract long, strong, golden-brown fibres, followed by a lengthy drying process in the sun before being plaited and woven into long lasting products.
Jute is known worldwide for its incredible strength properties, we also love jute because it’s eco-friendly, biodegradable and requires little to no pesticides and fertilisers in the growth process…. cool, huh!
